The summertime is here and with it comes the inexplicable urge to travel. Whether you’re traveling to the farthest reaches of the globe or to a neighboring city, the summer is the perfect time to pack your suitcases and head out. But the question always remains the same: where to? With that being said, I decided to list a few places that will certainly make for a fantastic vacation getaway that will foster new and important memories.

Bali, Indonesia

Why settle for the traditional summer vacations destinations like Cancun, Miami Beach or Disney World? Why not go somewhere exotic and fun? Bali has a rich culture full of a fun and welcoming people and a varied landscape that will offer hours of fun and excitement. Visit the island’s various beaches and coral reefs or take an elephant safari through the dense and tropical jungle. And when you are done visiting the more remote locations of the island, why not take a trip down to Ubud, where you will find one of the most vibrant and rich cultures on the planet. Once you get a taste of Bali, you will never want to come back!

Venice, Italy

This is quite possibly one of the most well-known cities in the entire world, and for good reason. If you are looking to go on vacation with your significant other, Venice is certainly the place for you. Immerse yourself in one of the oldest and most cultured cities in the world, where the main mode of transportation is the gondola and the streets are lined with small shops. Venice will provide hours upon hours of Italy’s famous arts and entertainment and some of the world’s greatest food.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh is most likely not the first choice for a summer vacation destination, but it, like all of the other entries on this list, offers its own set of unique characteristics and qualities. Edinburgh offers an experience very different than Venice or Bali. You’ll find hills aplenty and absolutely breathtaking historic castles and buildings that simply cannot be missed. With a vibrant nightlife and culinary scene, there is certainly always something to do in Scotland’s capital. Enjoy a trip to one of the several art galleries or watch a good old-fashioned soccer match?
